  1. same deal as lonnie. i don’t care so much as to whether the emails get deleted on the msn server. i just don’t want mail to keep dl the same emails over and over. using 10.5.2

  2. Hi. First of all, I must thank you for creating this marvelous plugin. But I tried setting up the plugin and also my account as instructed in the readme file. however, the following error shows up immediately after i click ‘get mail’ –> Read error: services.msn.com – Connection reset by peer.

    Is there anything i missed out or can u provide help?

  4. I’m having the same problem as Lonnie:

    I seem to have the problem of httpmail causing applemail to download my entire inbox and it doesn’t have the ability to delete messages. I will go through like 500 messages, delete them, erase deleted messages, and with the next “get mail” they all come downloading into my inbox again. they never get deleted from hotmail when I go to the website.

    If I delete my ‘mail from the server” as instructed or empty my trash all the deleted stuff comes back repopulating.

  5. Hi, I’m so glad that now I can use one mail software to read all my emails. I used to use Microsoft Entourage but much prefer Apple mail.
    Many thanks for your time and effort creating this plug in. It worked well and was easy to follow the instructions.

    thanks a lot for your plug-in, I just bought my first Mac and I was really frustrated I could’nt use my Hotmail in Mail.

    However, I can send emails now from Mail, but I do not seem to receive them. Can anyone help?

  9. So, I installed the plugin and worked great!!! But then all of a sudden my hotmail mailbox doesn’t sync. I take online, offline, and nothing happens. No exclamation point or anything. Can’t figure it out.

    Listen, I have one problem that just came up, it’s the same one as Justin’s, unable to download mail or sync my hotmail account with Mail. I installed the plugin quite a few months ago, and its been working great, up until just recently. I think it might have something to do with the Combo update Mac issued a couple of days ago, anyway something has changed somewhere because I can’t use this wonderful application anymore.
    Could you advise us as to what to do?

    I can send, but I’m thinking that mine stopped being able to receive new e-mails just last night which, incidentally, is when I installed the new Mac update. I didn’t realize it wasn’t working until my sister told me today that she e-mailed (and re-mailed) a few times and I received nada one.

    Any help would be much appreciated : )

    I think the last update may be causing problems. Since installing Mac OS X Update (10.5.3) on the 31st May I haven’t been able to collect any mail form my Hotmail account. Incidently it works on another older Mac with different version of HTTPMail.
    I’m not sure if this applies to the HTTPMail plugin.

  16. Thanks Daniel for your good work with httpmail – I think that consistently, it’s the best performing application out there for receiving hotmail through Apple Mail. I stopped being able to receive and send hotmail through Leopard Mail as soon as I updated to 10.5.3. I ‘downgraded’ to 10.5.2 using ‘Archive and Install’ and I can again receive and send hotmail.. Fairly painless process, taking about 45 minutes in total..

    I installed the httpmail 1.51 Leopard for my Mac OSX 10.5.3 last friday and it worked exactly for one day and then it stopped working. It just does’nt want to get any mail! Can anyone help me on this please???

  18. Hi there Daniel and others, I have the same problem. Loved that little plugin but it hasn’t been able to retrieve my hotmail for the last ten days. Hadn’t realised it was because of that update. Any solutions?

    receiving fine
    changed my password and screwed up the outgoing server somehow
    any suggesstions

  26. Hi Daniel,

    I’ve installed the HTTPMail to use the hotmail at my IMAC, IMail. It is just great !!! The only problem is, besides Inbox, no other mailbox can be sync’ed …. is there any way to fix it ??

    FIRST OF ALL THANKS FOR YOUR LEOPARD PLUG IN FOR HTTP MAIL. MY DAUGHTER HAS AN HOTMAIL.IT ( FOR ITALY) HOTMAIL ACCONT. DOES IT WORK WITH YOUR PLUG IN???I HAVE TRIED TO INSTALL IT BUT NO WAY : ((

    I’v used you plugin for quite some time. But for some reason Mail decided that I had to redownlaod all my messages again from the server. No problem so far but now all mijn sent messages that I sent via de HTTPMail Plugin are gone. Is there a way to get them back?

  33. hi guys i installed this program thinking it was awesome (and it probably is ) but when i add the account their is no error it just wont receive email it does nothing when i click get mail or retreive mail and yes the accoungt was online. i have followed the instructions correctly and checked a number of times to make them right .

    Can anyone please help me. if you can email me on zeeds123@hotmail.co.uk chances are you will be right and it is just a little mistake but please coul someone try and help me???

    everybody seems quite happy with this plug-in. I, however, am unable to install it. Every time I open the installer, I get the following message:

    File operation error: couldn’t create directory with file: /Volumes/HTTPMail 1.53/httpmail.mailbundle

    How can I solve this problem?

    I have a macbook pro with httpmail 1.53 and it works perfectly.
    I just bought an imac today and IMPOSSIBLE to install it, the file is not recognized at all.
    Any idea?
