I write code
I like to code 🙂
It is YOU who is the Dan Parnell that authored HTTPMail. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve had people ask me about it, including an event several years back when MacAddict distributed CDs with their magazine, and Digital Droo asked me for permission to include it.
Don’t mind me…I was just ego googling and happened upon your blog (which, annoyingly, is higher in the results than mine 😉 ), and thought I’d say hello from one Dan Parnell to another.
Yup that’s me. I just had look at your web page and see you are in Melbourne FL. I’m in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 🙂 I’ve been collecting Daniel Parnells myself, and I’ve found 4 or 5 over the years 🙂
so, how many are there of us do you think?
I don’t live anywhere close to any melbourne, although there’s a melba in the county next door. is that close enough?
oh wait, i took my deejay name and pen name (dusty) from the nickname of a famous boston red sox pitcher — mel parnell. that’s pretty darn close.
I’m 99% certain you’ve heard, but I didn’t see any mention here. Microsoft is dropping the DAV protocol on 9/1:
I imagine that will break your awesome HTTPMail. Are you planning to fix it?
Are you going to have time and/or interest in building v. 1.54 of your httpmail plugin? It is a great program!
Hi, I HAVE BEEN USING YOUR HTTPMAIL PLUGIN FOR SOME WHILE, AND I THINK IS GREAT, BUT NOW WITH THE NEW WINDOWS LIVE PROTOCOL DOESN’T WORK ANYMORE, DID YOU PLAN TO MAKE A NEW VERSION?
PD I COULD PAY FOR IT…IF IS NOT TO MUCH..
Will there be an update for Httpmail to make it compatible with snow leopard. I’m missing my hotmail. Thank you!
I too really miss using the Mail 4.0 software to check/send hotmail e-mails, please could you try to fix the plug-in. I hate using hotmail via Safari, as I don’t get to use the stationary features.
Please let me know if you will,
before I uninstall your httpmail plugin and set the new POP3 parameters to access my hotmail from Apple’s Mail, I wanted to thank you deeply as your program and generosity allowed me to use my computer in the best possible way. I guess that you won’t update your plugin as Hotmail offers POP3 support now, so if httpmail is dead, Hurray Httpmail !
Best regards, Sylvain
How have you got Apple’s mail to access your hotmail?
I can do so, where it receives e-mails but I cannot seem to send out from it.
I have a normal hotmail account by the way, not a premium one.
Daniel, had a look at what this guy did allready?
Hotmail in Mail application on mac is still not working, all the solutions are not working so far!
Do you have any idear to beat that system?
thanks for you help!
Are you going to make the httpmail plugin v 1.54 for Snow Leopard?
OMG Daniel Please get in contact with me.. i am willing to sponsor you to finish this! If you can “crack the sun” then I would be thrilled also we are looking at possible hiring you as a coder for our business
Please email me and let me know your price etc!
How is your son? I read your post recently and I often wonder about it.
Hi Kam, my boy is very sick. He’s been getting a lot worse lately. He can no longer walk, speak or even swallow. Since he is having trouble swallowing he is unable maintaining his airway, so if we aren’t really careful he vomits to clear it. This has been quite difficult lately as the whole family has the flu. My wife has been in bed for the last four days, my daughter came down with it two nights ago and I’m just getting over tonsillitis. It has been a really “fun” week. It is like having a small baby again, but without the eventual pay off of having a happy healthy little person who will put you in a crappy old folks home when you are old 😉
Would it be possible for you to give a quick check to your “esp8266-ser2net” ESP8266 sketch ?
I can’t find the “esp8266_pwm.h” anywhere…
In fact I’m not sure I need it as my only goal is to get a serial wifi bridge….all LEDs controls are not required.
Tx in advance for your time !
Hi, the esp8266_pwm.h should be there in the repo. Take a look here https://github.com/dparnell/esp8266-ser2net/blob/master/esp8266_pwm.h
